【About the Instructor】
Mr. Whaley has been working in the automobile industry for 20 years as a senior engineer in Chrysler Headquarters & Tech Center, Auburn Hills, MI, USA. He has extensive experience in product development, system design and simulation, and 3D printing. He has been co-Chair of Manufacturing Engineering’s World Class Manufacturing (WCM) Measurement Team, responsible for mentoring and leading the Measurement teams of numerous groups representing approximately 1,000 manufacturing employees.
【Course Description】
The Fundamentals of International Engineering is a team-taught core course focusing on global engineering mindset, design thinking, and global engineering best practices, with the following objectives:
1) To introduce students to basic engineering concepts, principles, methods, and international engineering profession;
2) To give students contextualized instruction and experience in global engineering mindset and process;
3) To equip students with the knowledge, principles and practice of sustainable engineering;
4) To acquaint students with concepts in engineering ethics, professionalism, teamwork, and global collaboration;
5) To give students a clear route to become an international engineer.
